How do I get rid of index.html?
I am creating a website using ipage and shopsite. I hae created my store in shopsite, but when i go to my page none of the links work unless I get rid of the index.html after the URL and refresh. I do not want my customers to have to do this, but when I try to get rid of the index.html in shopsite it says " Could not open home users web b2090 ipg.fmywebsitename store page1.html, errno Permission denied" If I cannot get rid of the index.html is there a way around it?? I would appreciate any and all help Thankss

Hello, i'm fairly new to using FTP servers and i've got a pretty big problem on my hands. I'm currently updating my uncles website using Dreamweaver CS4 Flash Professional CS4. The problem occurred when i imported a 534kb .swf file to my public html folder and inserted it into the home page. I didn't upload or change any other files on the server before this happened excluding the swf. Im using OS X Mac, and renting a small home server from the previous designer of the webpage, I think its apache based but i don't know enough about networking and servers to be certain. Any Help would be appreciated more than you could imagine. Thank you. I had installed Xampp in windows xp sp2 when i run index.php Something is wrong with the XAMPP installation?
I just installed Xampp on my computer.When I type in localhost xampp or https 127.0.0.1 xampp I get A Xampp for windows page. This page tells me I have successfully installed Xampp on my Comp. It also leads to the php info page on my Comp, which looks fine. When i try to run the index.html in my Xamp htdocs it works fine. But when I try and run the index.php file it says " Something is wrong with the XAMPP installation same thing with WAMP please help me
Uploaded index.htm file, changes don't appear online but I can "view source" and see the changes- Please help?
I do web design and such freelance and a client is having this issue.He's added a link to his index.htm page I checked over everything so there's nothing wrong with the code. He uploaded this file to his hosting using Filezilla. But when you go to his website online, the changes that were made do not show up at all. It remains the same as before the changes. HOWEVER, when we right click and choose to view the source of the page, the coding reveals the changes that were made.I figured if the coding was wrong, the website would not appear properly, although I'm pretty sure the coding is proper. And I figure if he's uploading index.htm to the wrong directory, then we wouldn't be able to see the updated file when we view the source.Please help. What is going on here? I don't know how to help him.
